30th Annual Kearley’s Yearlies Recap

That’s not a typo, but it might be bad math. Billed as the 30th Annual Kearley’s Yearlies, our records show this to be the third time Phoenix Comedy took center stage for an awards show like no other.

Brian Kearley and Jack Gavin hosted this year’s festivities as House of Comedy played host for the second straight year. From behind the podium (provided by the One Two Three Jokes crew) past winners, Valley favorites and comedy degenerates, dished out the Iconic Golden Lily to deserving winners.

This year’s show kicked off with everyone’s favorite rockers Judas Feast (Bill Laskowski and Matt Walker.) Presenter Kerri Gallagher turned heads as showing up in her wedding dress. Jill Kimmel joined the ceremonies via video as she waited to board a cruise ship, and Honorary Phoenician Big Irish Jay felt honored to be part of the festivities. Other presenters included Joshua Harrison, Celia Contreras, Kristofer Royer, Mike Dapper, Kate Borrell, and Rob Maebe.

Besides seeing Golden Lily’s distributed, those in attendance enjoyed musical numbers from Baby Boy (Tristan Bowling ), Scott Gesser’s “In Memoriam” song, and Young Pino (Nathan Evangelista). Plus, Michael Paul Kohn presented a video showing how Pastor Mike’s life changed since winning a Golden Lily for Best Show last year.

The big winner of the night was Matt Micheletti, who, on top of being a presenter, took home two Golden Lily’s. All categories were voted on by members of the Phoenix comedy community, and the winners include:
